This group project, part of my UX Design Master’s, supports local farm stores by motivating users to shop locally through a loyalty point system and raising sustainability awareness with a fun, interactive quiz. Following a complete user-centered design process, our team conducted thorough user research, created personas and journey maps, and iteratively built a high-fidelity prototype that blends functionality with user-friendliness.
As a group project in my UX Design Master’s program, this app was developed to encourage local shopping and sustainable practices through a loyalty point system and an engaging sustainability quiz. The app’s goal is to connect users with local farm stores, motivating eco-friendly purchases and building a community around sustainable shopping.
A full user-centered design process was followed, starting with in-depth user research and conducting interviews to identify user needs and expectations. Using these insights, personas and scenarios were created, laying the foundation for a detailed user journey map. This map highlighted key needs and discovered opportunities to enhance the shopping experience.
Focus was then directed on a specific part of the journey to create a detailed user story map, illustrating how users interact with the app. This story map guided the wireframe development, which evolved incrementally into the first interactive prototypes. To validate the design, moderated usability tests were conducted, and feedback was directly integrated to improve the user experience. The final result is a high-fidelity prototype, designed in Figma, complete with micro-interactions for a smooth, intuitive experience. This project demonstrates how the team worked collaboratively to support local businesses and promote sustainable shopping through a user-centered design approach.
